In 2006 I began producing documentary films and video. I was living in Yunnan Province, China and working with a very smart and lovely young German assistant, creating works on Chinese arts and culture. For thirty years I had been laying the groundwork for this leap, having spent years as an artist, writer and photojournalist.
In China, I met and learned from several film directors and completed three short films. In 2007 I returned to the US and have since been exploring the use of video in social media. In 2009 I was commissioned to produce my first professional documentary and began work on several music videos.
I now have channels on numerous video sharing sites with the YouTube DesignWise channel being central. My continuing interest in using new media keeps me on a perpetual learning curve… and I like that.
